What is the point of Job Corps?

Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16-24 improve the quality of their lives by empowering them to get great jobs and become independent.

How does the Job Corps work?

The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps graduates either enter the workforce or an apprenticeship, go on to higher education, or join the military.

At Job Corps, you learn at your own pace. Depending on the career area you choose and the learning pace you set for yourself. Our most successful Job Corps students remain in the program for at least 18 months to gain the knowledge and social skills needed for a new career.
